Climate
The climate varies from temperate in eastern Uttar Pradesh to extreme in Western UP to semi arid in Bundelkhand and Agra zone. Summers are very hot (average temperature 28-45 deg. celsius) and winters (from mid-Nov to Feb) are a bit chilly (average temperature 4-24 deg. celsius), with intense cold waves in some regions. Rainfall is moderate in the monsoons.
Language
The two state-languages of Uttar Pradesh are Hindi and Urdu. English has also become common in cities and tourist spots.

Uttar Pradesh is well connected by air, rail and road routes.
Uttar Pradesh has been the ancient seat of Hindu religion, learning and culture, the birth place of Indo-Islamic culture of medieval period, a torch bearer of nationalism during the colonial period and has continued to play a prominent role in Indian political and cultural movements.

Uttar Pradesh is famous for its rich heritage of art and craft - Agra and Kanpur are internationally known for their leather craftFirozabad, the city of bangles, is also a hub for many glass accessories; Kannauj is well known for oriental perfumes, scents, rose water and tobacco; Khurja is famous for its ceramics pottery; Lucknow, the capital, boasts of its cloth work  & embroidery (chikan) work on silk and cotton; Mirzapur and Bhadohi are known for carpets; Moradabad is known for its metal ware, specially brass artifacts; Saharanpur is known for wood carved items  made here; Varanasi is famous for its banarasi saris and silk.
The cuisine of Uttar Pradesh is popular for the royal dishes handed down by the Mughals, especially the biriyani and kebabs. Also famous are the Lucknowi chaats (snacks which are a combination of sprouts, vegetables, spicy, tangy sauces and crunchy chips made out of flour).
