The region is known for many rare plants including some rare orchids. It is part of Satpura National Park , where tigers, panthers, wild boars, peacocks, monkeys and bears roam free.

Other places of interest include Rajat Prapat (Silver waterfall), Bees Fall, Pandav Caves, Gupt Mahadev, Chauragarh (devotees of the Hindu god Shiva come here in large numbers during Mahashivratri festival in March), Dhupgarh (highest peak of the Satpuras and Madhya Pradesh), Handi Kho (a deep valley), Priyadarshini Apsara Falls, Jatashanker, Saunderkund, Big Fall and Duchess Fall.
