More about
Malpe

climate, similar to the one you would find in Goa,
and a cool breeze blowing throughout
the day makes it pleasant.
Monsoons are from June-Sep. making the
weather hot and humid, but
winters are cool.
Language Kannada, Hindi
and English (in tourist spots) are
the main languages.
Across the
Malpe bay is the island of Darya
Bahadurgarh. Be sure to visit the
Balarama Temple and Malpe’s oldest
tile factory, set up by the
Basel Mission.
St. Mary's Island is only a
boat-ride away across Malpe, where one can find a unique
formation of
volcanic rocks which are vertical
hexagonal blocks. The whole island is a big
collection of these rocks in different
sizes.
The main
economic activity in Malpe is the fishing
industry, and the next biggest industry is
tile manufacturing.
