Climate
Kodaikanal enjoys a temperate sub-tropical climate down the year. During summers the average temperature ranges from 11-20
deg. celsius whereas in winters the temperature drops down to less than 10 deg. celsius. From Apr-June and Sep- Oct would be the best time to visit Kodaikanal.

Language
Tamil is the widely spoken language here, but shopkeepers have a working knowledge of English , as is common in tourist
destinations.

The star-shaped lake in Kodai is perhaps the most favoured hang-out. The lake has a path that surrounds it. Apart from boating in the lake, horse riding, cycling, simply strolling around the lake is very relaxing.

Adjacent to the lake is the botanical garden - Bryant Park. The Shenbaganur Museum has a huge collection of over 300 exotic orchid species and artefacts of the ancient Paliyans tribes.

Other places of interest include Coakers Walk, Kurinji Andavar Temple, Kukkal Caves, Pillar
Rocks and Dolphin Nose.
