Climate
Kannur (Cannanore) has a humid climate with an oppressive hot season from March-May, followed by the south-west monsoon till end-Sep. Oct-Nov is the post-monsoon or retreating monsoon season. During  Apr-May, the mean daily maximum temperature is about 35 °C, while in Dec-Jan, the minimum temperature is about 20 °C.

Malayalam
is the most prevalent language but one can communicate in basic English in some tourist places.

Kannur (Cannanore) is popularly known as the city of Looms and Lores and famous for its handlooms. Another attraction is the art  form  of Theyyam. It is also famous for its beautiful virgin beaches .

Some interesting places here are St. Angelos Fort (a sea pathway exists behind the fort, stretching a km or two into the sea), Payyambalam Beach, Arakkal Museum, The Cannanore Lighthouse, The Cannanore Cantonment (one of the 62 cantonments in the country and the only one in Kerala), The Defence Security Corps (DSC) Centre and DSC Records, Baby Beach, Meenkunnu Beach, Mappila Bay, The Kannur (Cannanore) City Center and The Sea View Park.
