Climate
Gulmarg enjoys all four
seasons - spring (Mar-early May)
with light showers and slow breeze, cool
summer (till end-Aug), autumn (Sep-end Nov) and
winter (early Dec-Mar) covering the entire
district with snow.
Language
The main languages are
Urdu, Kashmiri, Hindi, Dogri, Pahari, Ladakhi and
English.
The journey to
Gulmarg is an enchanting one through fir-covered
hillsides and flat expanses of
rice fields interspersed by
picturesque villages, where scarlet
chillies festoon windows of village homes. This is
one of the few places in India where one can witness
the changing colour of the
seasons
- green of spring, summer's rich
emerald, autumn's golden hues and white winters.
There is so much
to do here. Apart from taking a golfing

horses for sightseeing; or you can slide down

hire to drag back your sled up the slope; or you can
ski all winter or participate in some
