Climate Gokarna has a

Gokarna beach
forms the coast of the town while the others
lie towards the south. At Om Beach , one can indulge in several
activities including surfing,
water skiing, parasailing, banana tube rides, bumby rides,
snorkelling, board surfing and beach
camping.
Gokarna is also an
important centre for Sanskrit learning. It is
a town of temples , the most
important being the Mahabaleshwar
Temple. Shivaraatri
festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm,
with two great temple chariots pulled by over
a hundred
people
through the town's narrow streets, while priests and pilgrims
chant hymns. During the four day Shivaraatri festival
the small town of Gokarna is visited by up to 20,000
pilgrims.
