Choose Hotel
Climate Delhi's distance from the
sea gives it an extreme type of
continental climate, with very hot summers
and very cold winters, temperatures varying
from 45 degrees
in summers
to 4 degrees in winters. In summers the
heat wave is immense. The cold
wave from
the Himalayan region makes winters
very chilly, and there's usually mist
and fog in the
mornings. The best season to visit is during
spring from Feb-Apr
(when the blooming flowers
make the city very colorful) or from
Aug-Nov.
Language Almost all the
languages of North India are spoken in some part of the NCR,
the main ones being Hindi, Punjabi and
English.
Connectivity Being the
capital of India, Delhi is the best connected
city in the country with airports, railway
stations, national, state highways and major
roads criss-crossing the entire National Capital
Region.
Delhi city, the
showcase of India, has been the
centre of political activity from time
immemorial. The ancient fortress, majestic buildings and
historic ruins find their modern counterparts in the tall
skyscrapers, diplomatic enclaves and well-planned townships of
New Delhi. The people here, their lifestyles, traditions and
even the climate are a rich and varied mixture of all that is
India.
New Delhi, the capital and
the third largest city of India is a fusion
of the ancient and the
modern. Standing along the West end of the
Gangetic Plain, the capital city, Delhi, unwinds to give a
picture rich with culture, architecture and
human diversity, deep in history,
monuments, museums, galleries, gardens and
exotic shows.
Comprising of two contrasting
yet harmonious parts, the Old Delhi
and New Delhi, the city is a travel
hub of Northern India. Narrating the city's
Mughal past, Old Delhi, takes you through the
labyrinthine streets passing through formidable
mosques, monuments and
forts. You will also
discover lively and colourful
bazaars where you can pick up a
variety of things at
mind-blowing prices amidst a barely controlled, chaotic
ambience.
The imperial city of New
Delhi displays the fine architecture of
British Raj. One cannot leave this city without tasting the
chaats of Delhi, available in any
street corner. Be it the 'pani puri, bhel puri,
aloo tikki or pav
bhaji', all the chaat items leave your mouth
watering for more and are light on your stomach.
